My friend Loraine is coming to visit today for lunch. We are both retired registered nurses, having given a combined 110 years to our profession. I had not seen her for quite a while, so I decided to prepare something special for Sunday lunch. All in the Air Fryer. Cooking healthy food. We both have a few health problems and therefore we have to watch our fat and sugar intake. so I decided the air fryer was the best way to go. Three courses, yes even a pie. I had to substitute a few things but all in all, dinner was delicious. The menu is simple to prepare and delicious. Go here and check it out.

Like many cooks, looking for healthier ways to feed our families and ourselves has become a trial-and-error chore. The alternative, I found was an air fryer. Now I know you saying baking is just as good, but who wants to heat the entire house to bake 2 chicken breasts, plus, it takes longer. My air fryer is helping me with my new lifestyle, of healthier living. I have also been learning about herbs and growing my own,[in the kitchen] IT started as a way to improve the taste of my food without all the salt. However, I discovered an enormous amount of information on herbs’ contributions to health and wellness. And because of that, I started to write articles on herbs, how to grow them, the dishes to use them for, and, above all the health benefits

The cold months are here again. And with it comes my birthday then the holidays. One of my favorite things about the cold months is I get to make soups. Yes, delicious soups can be eaten at any time, depending on their contents. Just plain, a cup that can be for at any time may be with crackers.. or with added contents like noodles, also My Mom, for her main meal soup, added tiny homemade dumplings. Today I made just plain Pumpkin soup. And yes, I always make extra so I can freeze some.

Then there are of course cookies. I tried something a little different for this one. White chocolate, cranberry, and both all-purpose flour and a packet of oatmeal cookie mix. My son has friends from elementary and middle school, that still come around for their holiday cookies. My baby is now 32 years of age. And plus something special for Him. I hope you can tell I love cooking. Always have. My sisters and I Learn from our Mom, and those are lessons we will never forget. We watched her from an early age, and as I got older, I started to help her, then I got my own Sunday, and everything prepared for that meal was planned and made by me. Were there a mishap or two, you better believe it. but I got better with time. Today it’s not only cooking but healthy cooking I strive for.
